To whom it may concern:

Michael Leon is a professional, dedicated, hard working individual.  He is respected by me, other management and his fellow coworkers.  I find he is a creative individual with great integrity and respect for others.  I highly commend his admirable work ethic.

As former Chairman, President and CEO of Pathmark, I had the pleasure to be in situations where I had to call upon Michael's expertise.  For example, cashier pins, signs, posters, video props, watches, certificates and logos were some of those projects Michael worked on for me.  Visual reinforcement was essential for promoting our vision and helping raise profit margins.  Michael's role was to take our ideas, incorporate his own and transform them into an effective marketing tool.  His design skills, organizational ability and initiative to solely correct problems with outside printers and vendors were a true asset to and made our projects successful.  Michael Leon's talent and work values helped me to maintain our high standard of quality and meet my tight deadlines.

In working with Michael within the last 5 years the results I have encountered have been outstanding creative solutions, a pleasant demeanor and a team oriented spirit.  I found it was those qualities that promoted our smooth work flow and resulted in final products that I was proud to display.  I am confident that Michael will be a success and asset with whomever he chooses to work with.

Sincerely,

Jim Donald

Dear perspective employer:

I have known Michael Leon in a variety of capacities for many years.  His fourteen years of loyal service has proven to be an effective part of the Pathmark team and specifically an asset to our Advertising department.  Michael is an intelligent, capable, dedicated, and personable man.  He is always quick on his feet, with sensible reactions in all the circumstances I've seen him in.  I feel confident in saying that he is capable of handling any situation with thoughtfulness and maturity.

Michael's well deserved promotions consisted of being Layout Artist & Electronic Quality Output Controller, Illustrator, Digital Artist, Creative Designer and Senior Graphic Designer.  Within each position, he has been organized, efficient, extremely competent, and has had an excellent rapport with colleagues, management and outside vendors.  His communication skills, both written and verbal, are excellent.  He also has the analytical skills to diagnose problems and devise viable solutions. Michael’s ability to remain unflustered, during frenzied periods, proves his value to work well under pressure.

In summary, I highly recommend Michael Leon for any position or endeavor that he may seek to pursue.  He will be a valuable asset for any organization.

I’ve had the pleasure of coming to know the talents and capabilities of Michael Leon during my tenure as Advertising Production Manager of the Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City Region. Creative design is a talent few are capable of expressing in a multitude of ways day in and day out.  Michael Leon is one of the few designers I’ve come to know in my many years in the industry who answer every request with a solution more creative than the piece before. Michael has shown his creative talent and dedication to detail in comprehensive projects such as the original art for the 2010 Food Network, Atlantic City Food & Wine Festival. From that original art he continued to create signage, billboards, flags, invites, postcards, menus and a multitude of other collateral for the largest event of the Caesars Entertainment Eastern Region. Also notable are the many high end invites he has created.  His New Year’s Eve invites for Harrah’s Resorts and Showboat Atlantic City took the form of leatherette bound books, popup rainforests, and a piece with a spinning windmill.

Refreshing brand standards is always the culmination of the ideas of many leaders of a corporation.  Michael attentively listens to the variety of thoughts of corporate vice presidents and directors and forms several options for their consideration. Once a standard is finalized, Michael ensures its integrity is maintained.

Michael is however more than an incredibly talented designer.  His talent includes the ability to see beyond present conditions and work towards goals to restructure and develop an art department independent from outside resources. Michael assisted in the purchase decision for computer equipment and software and also assisted in its installation. Mike played a role in the organization of the new server which became a library of past and future files for the variety of brands Caesars Entertainment owns.  He was instrumental in creating templates junior designers could easily work off of and spent additional hours guiding them through the archives.  Upon completion of bringing all design work in house; our department realized a savings of $900,000 year over year.

Michael has always been dedicated to his profession and a valued employee. He is a team player who willingly assists young designers develop.  His leadership qualities are evident and have unfortunately not been used to their full potential due to lack of opportunity for advancement within the organization.  Michael is an exceptional professional.

Sincerely,

Michael Leon has worked for me as a Senior Graphic Designer for 2 years supporting Caesars Entertainment’s Atlantic City region.  During this time he has created beautiful high-end invitations for our VIP guests, brand identities such as the Atlantic City Country Club and our annual Food & Wine Festival.  He has collaborated with regional marketing departments to determine the look and feel for events such as Heart by Atlantic City, and developed promotional templates and brand guidelines for his fellow Graphic Artists to reference.

Michael has had an amazing impact on the creative team, boosting morale with his eternal optimism and patiently helping coworkers with software and design techniques.  In addition to creative skill he has a mind for business, he assisted our management team with an improved digital filing process including new hardware, software and naming conventions.  He has been instrumental in helping institute new cost saving procedures including upgraded project tracking software, he is very well organized, and always thinking proactively.

To whom it may concern:

I’ve worked with Michael Leon over the years, on a range of projects, and found him to be not only a creative artist, but a dedicated, hard-working professional. Mike always garners tremendous respect from other members of the creative team as well as managers and clients. He’s a man with great integrity, respect for others, and he has a terrific work ethic.

As Manager of Communications for Pathmark Stores, Inc., I called upon Michael’s talents across a wide range of projects: cashier pins, signs, posters, video props, watches, certificates and logos, to name a few.  Though this was all for one company, the topics were so diverse it was identical to an agency situation: we worked on energy savings one day, morale boosting the next, then food safety and microbial contamination. Mike even did props for a simulated TV game show.

Mike’s work was also an essential part of promoting the company CEO’s vision and helping pull the company out of bankruptcy. Michael took our ideas, incorporated his own, and transformed them into effective marketing tools. Then he used his organizational skills and production knowledge to get the project done, on time and on budget.

In my years of working with Michael, the results of his work have been nothing short of outstanding. He’s a good guy to work with too, pleasant personality, good sense of humor, always fun to be around. I’m confident that he’ll be successful, and an asset to whatever company is lucky enough to hire him.

I would be happy to discuss my working relationship with Michael to anyone who’s interested. Feel free to contact me at the numbers below.

I wish Michael all the success in his future endeavors.

Sincerely,

Gary Krauss

Energy Manager Pathmark Stores Inc. Contact information available upon request

To whom it may concern:

Pathmark Stores, Inc. operates 145 locations in 4 states, and employees over 20,000 people.  The vast spread of personnel requires information on company programs to be efficiently disseminated throughout the company in order to achieve the intended impact.  I have found that Michael Leon possess the skills to make this happen.

Supermarkets are equipped with extensive refrigeration equipment that consumes a significant amount of energy and Pathmark operates in a region with on of the country’s highest energy rates.  As Energy Manager, I have the responsibility to save as much as possible in energy expenses through energy procurement and conservation programs.

I turned to Michael for assistance in a company wide energy conservation program from 2002 to 2007 that involved all the stores.  This program included promotional kits, a video, signs, and several promotional items to help generate awareness and inform several thousand employees of methods to reduce energy consumption throughout our stores.

I discussed my ideas for the contest with Michael and gave him a few rough sketches.  Michael listened to my ideas, provided feedback, and in the following days presented to me with what became our design for this program.  He took the lead and coordinated the graphics with our video producer, prize vendor, and utilities marketing departments.  This allowed me to focus on establishing procedures on how the company was to achieve its savings goal.

Analysis of the final results showed that this program was a success.  I believe that Michael brought creative talents and leadership qualities to the table that enabled me to hit my goals.  Michaels combination of professional skills and enthusiasm to work within a team setting are traits that will benefit any organization’s objectives.

Sincerely,

Steven Castracane

Dear Sir/Madame;

I have worked with Michael Leon on several projects at Pathmark.  During that time he showed a tremendous attention to detail.  Michael had the ability to develop outstanding creative approaches while keeping costs in mind.  One of the projects he designed was a Cashier Recognition In-Store Sign.  The in-store display needed to combine inserts for photography and product information.  Michaels design solution contained an elaborate design that was both eye-catching and successful in attracting customers and cashiers.

Last year Michael also created a design for the face of our watch.  The watch was a promotional idea that served as a gift to employees.  Michaels effective design contained a bright metallic color on the face of the watch and a creative logo to compliment the color.  He made sure to continue to make necessary changes until we were all happy with the finished product.  Michael was patient, consistent and thorough in communicating to the  outside production companies.  It was his efforts and recommendations that made sure the vendors implemented the proper design.  The result was a quality product and gift that the employees appreciated.

Sincerely,

Toni Pastre

Video - Sirius Satellite Radio - Studio 69 Logo Presentation

VisualCV Video

A logo identity project: "Create a symbolic image that represents the rebirth of radio... Satellite Radio". Theme: Radio Reborn. The image of a Phoenix captures the meaning that Studio 69 wants (Hope, Eternity, Immortality and A New Beginning). "The Phoenix is an image of the cosmic fire where the world began and will end. Only one phoenix exists at a time. The bird is consumed by flames and a new phoenix comes forth from the pyre. The Angel of Death may never touch him." Studio 69 is that one symbolic Phoenix that will lead the way for Sirius Satellites success and change the dynamic of radio. The perception of radio is "reborn".

Michael Leon was responsible for the concept, design, illustration and movie production. Applications used to create the logo were Freehand Drawing, Illustrator and Photoshop. Applications used to create the movie were Sound Edit, iMovie, iDVD, Garage Band and QuickTime.
